If you can breathe, you can practice yoga. Whether you are new to yoga or have been practicing for awhile, everyone is welcome. I offer hatha flow classes with a focus on the breath, movement, strength and stretching.
What is yoga, and why has it become so popular?
Yoga, as is relates to the physical aspect, is an ancient practice that involves a series of poses (positions), concentration (mind) and breathing techniques. Since yoga is gentle, almost anyone can do it, regardless of age or fitness level.
Yoga originated some 5,000 years ago from India and traditionally was only practiced by men. It was developed as a practice to achieve harmony between the mind, body and spirit. There are many branches of yoga.
I enjoy teaching Hatha Yoga Flow which emphasises the strengthening and purifying of the body through asana (physical postures) and the breath (pranayama).
